Foton Overseas Sales Surge Sharply in May - Leading China Commercial Vehicle Export
Foton Auto continues robust overseas growth under its comprehensive internationalization strategy.
In May 2026, Foton’s total vehicle sales exceeded 58,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 17.3%. Overseas monthly sales hit 18,000 units, rising 64.3% year on year. From January to May, cumulative overseas exports reached 89,000 units with a 38% year-on-year growth, keeping Foton at the forefront of China’s commercial vehicle exporters.
The growth is driven by upgraded export structure and high-end models. Auman heavy trucks delivered large orders in Africa and Central Asia. New energy models including CAVAN C1 gained wide attention at Germany IFAT Exhibition. TUNLAND V9 pickup and electric light trucks boosted business in Europe. Foton has achieved comprehensive market breakthroughs across Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia.
Strong performance originates from systematic localized operation. Foton builds a global technical database covering 59 countries. Vehicles are customized to adapt to local climate and road conditions ranging from high-temperature deserts to heavy-load mountain routes.
Foton has set up manufacturing bases and KD assembly plants in Brazil, Thailand, South Africa and Saudi Arabia to realize local production, supply chain and after-sales service. A joint venture with COSCO Shipping Specialized Transportation guarantees stable global shipping logistics. The complete industrial ecosystem helps avoid trade barriers and supports sustainable overseas expansion.
