BAIC Foton Concludes Headquarters Training for Sri Lanka Bus Service Team

To improve technical capabilities of local maintenance teams, BAIC Foton invited more than 20 senior technicians from Sri Lankan bus service partners to Beijing headquarters for exclusive full-process training. The program builds a direct channel for overseas partners to access headquarters technical support.![]()
The integrated training program combines factory visits, brand courses, theoretical lectures and hands-on vehicle practice, targeting the actual operation pain points in Sri Lanka.
1. Brand & Manufacturing Insight
Trainees visited production workshops and labs to learn Foton bus manufacturing procedures and quality control standards, building solid trust in Foton products and brand.
2. Systematic Theoretical Training
Training covers powertrain, chassis structure, high-low voltage electrical systems, CAN bus and core component knowledge.
Technicians learned fault codes, typical failure cases and standardized maintenance workflows. Training also includes operation practice on vehicle diagnostic systems to help staff shift from experience-based repair to standardized electronic fault diagnosis.
3. Real Vehicle Hands-on Practice
With complete buses as training equipment, participants practiced pre-delivery inspection, vehicle troubleshooting and closed-loop maintenance. Professional instructors offered one-on-one guidance, shortening fault handling time and reducing vehicle downtime for local operators.
4. Exchange & Targeted Problem Solving
During group discussions, Sri Lankan technicians raised practical difficulties encountered in daily bus operation. Headquarters engineers provided customized maintenance solutions adapted to local harsh working environments. Trainees highly recognized the standardized diagnostic and maintenance methods from the training.
