Foton officially launched its new GALAXUS R5 long-distance heavy truck at SECC in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This new model marks another upgrade of Foton’s complete system: global technology, localized vehicles and regional after-sales service for Southeast Asian core markets.
The GALAXUS R5 adopts Foton mature global heavy truck platform, specially optimized for complicated road conditions in Vietnam. It features 700L+750L rolled high-strength steel combined frame, strong load capacity and light curb weight to cut fuel consumption. The double-layer anti-corrosion coating on chassis adapts to high temperature and rainy weather, extending service life and lowering maintenance costs.
The intelligent cabin comes with a 10-inch high-definition touch screen supporting Bluetooth, wireless network and voice control. Optional 360-degree panoramic camera simplifies driving operations. The truck has passed strict global tests including high temperature, cold and plateau tests to fit diverse Southeast Asian environmets.
Built for inter-provincial long-distance transport, the vehicle’s cab uses shield-type high-strength steel with 69% high-strength steel ratio. It supports optional active safety systems such as lane departure warning and forward collision warning. Air suspension shock absorption and ergonomic air seat with wider bunk effectively relieve driver fatigue during long journeys.
